Each month, Panorama magazine brings you the best from the world
of Porsche. Races, vintage car shows, technical articles, we cover
it all!
At Panorama, we never have room for all the pictures we'd like
to
share with our readers. Here are some photos that just wouldn't
fit
into the magazine this month.
Featured in the January issue is a comparison of the Cayman S,
Porsche's latest hatchback model, with Porsche's late great 968,
perhaps the most practical car ever to come from Zuffenhausen.
That put us in mind of the 968 as it has appeared in Panorama
over the years. For this month's gallery, we show you two covers
and some of the photos that have never been seen, all from photographer
Leonard Turner.
We refer you to the magazine for even more articles. How do you

With its curvaceous restyling, highly refined three-liter
engine and six-speed transmission, the 968 was the
final iteration of Porsche's water-cooled four cylinder
line.

Two of the features separating the 968 from its forbearers
were the dramatic outline of the front fender and the
totally semi-recumbent headlights.

944 owners were right at home in the 968 cockpit,
though the newer car offered a four-speed Tiptronic
as well as the new six-speed manual.

Senior editor Joe Rusz takes an early 968 for a

Stuttgart.

Though rare, the 968 in racing version was an extremely
competent competition vehicle.

We introduced the 968 to PCA with this Pano-rama
cover in October 1991.

In March of 2000 we came back to the 968 with a
stylized image from the original press introduction
in Germany.

The 968 Turbo S, the rarest of all 968s, was displayed
in front of Weissach's Casino for the traditional
Porsche Cup celebration in 1993.

The handsome 968 cabriolet was more popular in
North America than the coupe version.
