November 2006

Each month, Panorama magazine brings you the best from the world
of Porsche. Races, vintage car shows, technical articles, we cover it all!

At Panorama, we never have room for all the pictures we'd like to
share with our readers. Here are some photos that just wouldn't fit
into the magazine this month.

The November issue of Panorama features stories on both the new 911 Targa and the 911 GT3 variants. Leonard Turner went to Faro, Portugal, to see the new Targa and then to Ceram, a little known test track outside Paris, to experience the 911 GT3 models on the track and skidpad. Here are some of his photos from the trip.

We refer you to the magazine for even more articles. How do you get your copy? Join PCA, Porsche Panorama is a prime benefit of membership!

All of the new Targa models are built on the C4S platform and show the muscular lines of that car.

The large sliding glass roof gives tremendous access to sun and air when open, good protection from the elements when closed.

This Targa S, with its roof retracted, gives access to the outdoors at the cost of limited rearward vision.

Our test machine was equipped with a Tiptronic S transmission, navigation system, and the S engine.

The reflective glass roof and the sharply tapering quarter windows are signatures of the Targa model.

The "plain vanilla" GT3 in plain white negotiates the radical 43-degree banking of the Ceram track.

The newly introduced 997 version of the GT3 RSR was on hand for inspection but was not driven.

Check out the November issue for all the details on the new Targa and the four 911 GT3 models. This jam-packed issue of Panorama also includes a story on the Zone 1 Escape to Finger Lakes, an Art of Driving feature from racing expert Dennis Macchio, the story behind Petit Le Mans 2006, and Jim Schrager's advice on how to tell if you have a collectible Porsche, along with all our regular departments.
