December 2001

Each month, Panorama magazine brings you the best from the world of Porsche. Races, vintage car shows, technical articles, we cover it all!

At Panorama, we never have room for all the pictures we'd like to share with our readers. Here are some photos shot by Panorama Photographer, Leonard Turner, that just wouldn't fit into the magazine this month.

In our December issue we get to introduce you to the new 996 Targa - Porsche's glass-roofed "hatchback". These images are from the international press introduction of the Targa in the vicinity of Klagenfurt and Gmünd, Austria. More information on the new 996 Targa can be found in the December issue of Panorama.

We refer you to the magazine for even more articles. How do you get your copy? Join PCA, Porsche Panorama is a prime benefit of membership!

Clearly 911 in its arc, the roof structure of the Targa is nevertheless unmistakably different.

Controls for the roof and shade system are the lower center rocker switches on the console.

From the inside looking out, the 2002 911 Carrera Targa offers F-16 style visibility.

At Schloss Seefelds on the Wörthersee, journalists could explore a cutaway 911 revealing the workings of the roof system suppled by CTS, a joint venture of Porsche and Daimler.

A joy to some, anathema to others, Porsches now come with state-of-the-art cupholders.

See the December issue of Panorama for all the details on the 2002 911 Carrera Targa, a report on Porsche's 50-state Drive for Hope, an explanation of Porsche warning light systems, a review of the newest scale-model Porsches, and the heartwarming story of a wandering pig--all just in time for Christmas.
