November 2005

Each month, Panorama magazine brings you the best from the world
of Porsche. Races, vintage car shows, technical articles, we cover it all!

At Panorama, we never have room for all the pictures we'd like to
share with our readers. Here are some photos that just wouldn't fit
into the magazine this month.

Featured is the report on the Petit Le Mans race at Road Atlanta where the GT2 championship was almost decided between the Alex Job and Petersen/White Lightning teams. At Laguna Seca two weeks later the champions were chosen and for this month's gallery we show you Leonard Turners photos of the teams that scored big for Porsche this season.

We refer you to the magazine for even more articles. How do you get your copy? Join PCA, Porsche Panorama is a prime benefit of membership!

2004 American Le Mans Series GT2 Champion Timo Bernard, with fellow Alex Job pilot Romain Dumas, tied for second in this year's driver title chase.

The Alex Job Racing 911 GT3 RSR of Timo Bernard and Romain Dumas scored four consecutive victories during the season, to finish second in the GT2 Team Championship.

Frenchman Romain Dumas paired with Timo Bernhard to finish second in the series driver championship, scoring 145 points with wins at Mid Ohio, Lime Rock, Infineon and Portland.

Wolf Henzler claimed fourth in the driver standings while his partner at Laguna, Mike Rockenfeller, finished seventh. The BAM Motorsports 911 finished third in class at Laguna.

The first American driver to win the championship since 1999, the 24-year-old Patrick Long started karting in Europe at the age of 17.

Johannes van Overbeek and Jon Fogarty drove their Flying Lizard 911 GT3 RSR to third in both the driver and team championships.

Fatigue shows in the eyes of Jorg Bergmeister at Laguna. It was short-lived as he and his partner Patrick Long celebrated winning the 2005 drivers' honors at the conclusion of the four hour race with a season total of 179 points

Tim Sugden and Justin Jackson brought the J3 Racing Porsche home sixth at Laguna, a finish strong enough to garner fifth in the GT2 Team Championship. Sugden finished sixth in the driver standings, while Jackson was eighth.

Jorg Bergmeister leaves the pits for the final time at Laguna. He and Patrick Long scored five wins over the season to secure the GT2 Team Championship for Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning Racing.
