February 2007

Each month, Panorama magazine brings you the best from the world
of Porsche. Races, vintage car shows, technical articles, we cover it all!

At Panorama, we never have room for all the pictures we'd like to
share with our readers. Here are some photos that just wouldn't fit
into the magazine this month.

Featured in the February issue is a conversation with legendary racer Brian Redman. Among his most memorable Porsche rides was his Targa Florio win at the wheel of a Porsche 908/03. That put us in mind of the great race history of the 908 in its many forms. For this month's gallery we share some of Leonard Turner's photographs from the 1969 12 hour race at Sebring.

We refer you to the magazine for even more articles. How do you get your copy? Join PCA, Porsche Panorama is a prime benefit of membership!

Brian Redman is reunited with a 908/03 of the kind he used to score Porsche's victory at the Targa Florio in 1970 together with his partner Jo Siffert.

The #28 908, driven by Hans Herrmann and Kurt Ahrens, forces its way past a Camaro on the inside of a sharp turn.

Gerhard Mitter and Udo Schutz drove this 908 to fifth overall at Sebring in 1969.

Siffert leaps into the 908 as Redman watches. The pair jumped to the early lead but fell victim to Sebring's rough circuit. Most of the five 908s entered by the factory suffered chassis fractures.

The yellow-nosed #27, the best of the Porsche finishers at third overall, signals Brian Redman in #31 to pass on his right.

Vic Elford and photographer make momentary eye contact. He and Dick Attwood finished seventh overall in spite of chassis troubles.
