March 2007

Each month, Panorama magazine brings you the best from the world
of Porsche. Races, vintage car shows, technical articles, we cover it all!

At Panorama, we never have room for all the pictures we'd like to
share with our readers. Here are some photos that just wouldn't fit
into the magazine this month.

Featured in the March issue is our review of the brand new 2008 Cayenne model range. There is a lot more going on than a facelift with Porsche's highly successful SUV. For this month's gallery we provide additional photos from Leonard Turner and some interest facts from the international press launch near Jerez, Spain.

We refer you to the magazine for even more articles. How do you get your copy? Join PCA, Porsche Panorama is a prime benefit of membership!

A highlight of the new Cayenne is the high pressure direct fuel injection system which offers the twin benefits of more power and greater fuel efficiency. Look for it on 911s of the future.

How do you tell a Turbo from a normally aspirated Cayenne? In addition to the bigger air intake, the turn signals are mounted horizontally in the grill on the Turbo.

The large "sport" button on the left influences overall performance; the smaller sport button to the right acts on shock absorber settings. Note that this car is PDCC equipped as well.

The new headlights are relatively narrow and elongated and contribute to the 2008 Cayenne's meaner look.

The massive normally aspirated V8 proclaims its direct injected status. The 2008 model pumps out 385 horsepower at 6200 rpm and develops a useful 369 footpounds of torque.

Driving older Cayennes without PDCC back to back with 2008 cars equipped with the twist motors gave an appreciation of the capability of this system.

New with this model is the optional Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC); both front and rear swaybars incorporate powerful hydraulic twist motors which keep the Cayenne level in almost all cornering circumstances.

Various farm animals attest to the fact that the Cayenne is a most capable off road performer.
