May 2007

Each month, Panorama magazine brings you the best from the world
of Porsche. Races, vintage car shows, technical articles, we cover it all!

At Panorama, we never have room for all the pictures we'd like to
share with our readers. Here are some photos that just wouldn't fit
into the magazine this month.

The May issue features the first look at a Porsche Boxster styling exercise shown in New York City. Since the magazine went to press we've learned that the accolades for the show car have given Porsche the green light to produce the orange roadster in a Limited Edition of 500. Leonard Turner photographed the attention-grabbing Boxster on the grounds of Barber Motorsport Park and for this month's gallery we show you details and information we didn't have at press time.

We refer you to the magazine for even more articles. How do you get your copy? Join PCA, Porsche Panorama is a prime benefit of membership!

Black wheels with silver rims, black front and side air inlets and black model designation on the rear compliment the orange paint scheme.

Spoiler lips mounted on the standard front trim and modified rear trim with integrated rear diffuser improve aerodynamics by reducing lift on both front and rear axles without increasing aerodynamic drag.

Continuing the black accents that set off the orange Boxster are the aerodynamic rear view mirrors.

Wearing eye-catching orange paint normally found on the awesome 911 GT3 RS, the Limited Edition Boxster and Boxster S will produced with many standard features that normally are options. Only 500 (250 Boxster and 250 Boxster S) will be produced.

The shift pattern on the gear shift lever is orange, as is the trim panel covering the dash-mounted cup holders.

RS orange roll bar hoops continue the orange and black motif, which extends to the Alcantera-trimmed interior. Seats, carpet, dash, door panels and other surrounding soft surfaces are black with orange for interior trim pieces such as the door lever surrounds.

The Sport Design package, standard on the Limited Edition, includes a redesigned extendible rear spoiler, which works with the rear diffuser and front spoiler lips, to optimize aerodynamics.

Check out the May issue for more photos of the Limited Edition Boxster. Also in May, read about the 12 Hours of Sebring, PCA's biggest club race ever also at the Florida track, and the story of a husband and wife team and their 914 adventures at the Targa Newfoundland. Also in this month's issue is the first information on PCNA's Rennsport Reunion set for this November and the conclusion to Joel Reiser's technical how-to on converting a Carrera 4 to a Carrera 2.
