Each month, Panorama magazine brings you the best from the world
of Porsche. Races, vintage car shows, technical articles, we cover
it all!
At Panorama, we never have room for all the pictures we'd like
to share with our readers. Here are some photos that just wouldn't
fit into the magazine this month.
In the February issue Dan Lindsay recounts his experiences taking European delivery of his 911 Carrera S. Dan put 2000 miles on his car, traveling all over Europe, before returning it to Stuttgart. For this month’s Gallery, Leonard Turner’s photographs take you to some of the Panorama staff’s favorite European road trip destinations, including Germany, France, Austria and Italy.
We refer you to the magazine for even more articles. How do you get your copy? Join

A navigation system makes getting around in Salzburg, Austria, easy and the Mirabell Gardens, laid out in the early 1700s, is a great place to stretch your legs after the run down the autobahn from Stuttgart.

No Porsche road trip would be complete without a visit to Gmünd, Austria, where the first Porsche was built. This little building, known as the Pfortnerhaus, is all that is left of the sawmill where Porsche rebuilt itself after the war. You’ll find a couple of framed copies of Panorama inside.

France’s grand canyon, the Gorges du Verdon, is one of the pleasures of exploring the south of France by Porsche. The south bank scenic route, La Corniche Sublime, twists for 12 miles and was engineered to open up the most fantastic views. |

Drive the gentle curves of Tuscan roads to reach Volpaia, a perched village outside of Radda in Chianti. Given over almost entirely to wine production, Volpaia is a charming place to walk. The food’s not bad either. |

Montalcino, not far from Siena in Italy, still has some of its 13th century walls. The winding drive up to this hillside town is made for Porsches and a walk around the parapet of its 14th century fortress offers a breathtaking view of the town and surrounding countryside. |

Leave the autobahn near Innsbruck to climb up to Seefeld in Tirol, a resort town in western Austria full of hikers in summer and skiers in winter. This is the small Seekirchl, a jewel of Tirol baroque architecture, on the southeastern edge of the town. |

Porsche’s supremely modern facility at Leipzig, home of the Carrera GT and Cayenne and soon-to-be Panamera, is a great excuse to make the run from Stuttgart into the former East Germany. |

The great Baroque castle of Ludwigsburg, built in the early 1700s by a duke of Württemberg, is just minutes up the autobahn from Zuffenhausen. The extensive park surrounding it is the perfect place to walk off a lunch of traditional spätzle. |
