PCA Enthusiasts:
Please join us in Sensational Boise for the 47th annual Porsche Parade. Plan to experience true western hospitality from the Silver Sage Region and many of our Porsche friends from July 28th through August 3rd, 2002.
Boise’s downtown area offers many restaurants, pubs and shops, museums and art galleries. Numerous options are available for day trips to the Sawtooth or White Cloud Mountains, Sun Valley, or Hells Canyon. Boise’s climate is mild, with very low humidity. Typically, July temperatures reach 90+ degrees and morning lows are around 60. Boise is a family-friendly city with all kinds of fun things to do including the Discovery Center, Boondocks with its miniature golf, go-karts and games, Roaring Springs Water Park, tennis courts, swimming pools, three outstanding skateboard parks, both roller skating and ice skating facilities, and much more. Directly in the center of downtown Boise, is the Boise Centre on the Grove, our convention center, featuring top-quality meeting facilities. PCA members will enjoy mingling in the Hospitality Room, shopping in the Goodie Store, browsing the Art Show, viewing movies in the PCA Theatre and challenging their technical abilities during the Tech Sessions and Tech Quiz. PCA will have exclusive use of the convention center for Parade Headquarters. We will use multiple hotels within minimal walking distance.
The site for the Concours d’Elegance will be nestled against the foothills, at the picturesque Veteran’s Grounds, dating back to the original Fort Boise Polo Grounds of 1863. The Driving Event will be at an excellent facility, minutes from downtown Boise. The Rally will provide a glimpse of Idaho’s spectacular “Porsche roads” where you can enjoy the sight of rocky canyon walls with tall, towering pine trees on one side of the road and watch white water rafters and kayakers on the other. Wrapping up the week, the Parade through Boise will put the “parade” back into Porsche Parade. Porsches will stage in beautiful Ann Morrison Park to drive by the Mission-style, 1920s train depot, now the Boise Depot. The cars then will proceed down Capital Boulevard and loop around the State Capitol Building. The tour will end with a drive past some of Boise’s finest historic homes. Join us for Parade 2002 in Boise! The last Idaho Parade was the memorable 1971 gathering in Sun Valley, which stands as a singular event for those who attended. We’re looking forward to another great week of Porsches and PCA camaraderie. Join us for a taste of hospitality in the Great Northwest!
