BanquetsWELCOME DINNERDate: Sunday, July 4, 2004 Come enjoy a delicious Tex-Mex Welcome Dinner consisting of grilled strips of seasoned beef and chicken along with grilled peppers and onions all wrapped up with warm flour tortillas. Try adding creamy guacamole, grated cheddar cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo, and salsa, and you have yourself a made-to-order fajita. Throw in Spanish rice, Borracho beans, shrimp quesadillas, jicama salad, and jalapeno corn muffins for a complete Tex-Mex feast. An old fashioned Tres Leches cake with berries and crunchy, cinnamon churros will be served as a finale to our Mexican-inspired dinner, which you will be able to enjoy these while the Awards Presentation is going on. A vegetarian option will also be available. Refer to the Vegetarian Meal form included in this packet. Once the sun has gone to bed, enjoy a Margarita or one of Texas' own beers and find a seat out on the patio to watch a spectacular Fourth of July fireworks display to round out our Tex-Mex evening. CONCOURS LUNCHDate: Monday, July 5, 2004 As a Parade entrant, you will receive a convenient yet appetizing boxed lunch for you to enjoy while you're looking at all the exquisite cars. Several distribution tents will be set up throughout the Concours site so as to avoid long lines. There will be several different sandwich selections, as well as salad, fruit, cookie, utensils and a wet-nap so you can find a nice shady spot to sit and enjoy your meal. Soft drinks and water will be available for purchase. CONCOURS DINNERDate: Monday, July 5, 2004 Mingle with friends in the elegant foyer of the Grand Ballroom, where cash bars will have an assortment of drinks for you to purchase. Enter the grandeur of an Old Southern Estate and enjoy a sumptuous three-course meal. First, a salad, combining field greens, spiced pecans and a chunk of bleu cheese, dressed with a peach vinaigrette. The second course marries a bacon-wrapped fillet of beef, a grilled chicken breast with a silky smooth Bourbon Maple Demi Glace. Rosemary roasted potatoes and fresh, steamed vegetables complete this course. A vegetarian alternative will be available. Refer to the Vegetarian Meal form included in this packet. The final course is a satisfying combination of a rich, buttery tart shell, layered with fresh mangoes sitting on a pool of vanilla bean Creme Anglaise. But wait, there's more. Instead of the mango tart, your neighbor will find a decadent double fudge chocolate torte with a fresh berry coulis sitting in front of them. Sharing is encouraged - desserts that is. RALLY AWARDS DINNERDate: Wednesday, July 7, 2004 Never had a real Southern meal? Now's your chance to better understand the term "comfort food". A wedge of iceberg lettuce combined with carrots, tomatoes and cheddar cheese is served with thick and creamy Ranch dressing. The classic Chicken Fried Chicken is plated with mashed potatoes and smothered with cream gravy that would make any grandmother proud. Desserts include Red Velvet cake served on a chocolate painted plate and an unbelievable pecan torte that puts pecan pie to shame. Once again, sharing is encouraged when desserts arrive. A vegetarian alternative will also be available. Refer to the Vegetarian Meal form included in this packet. TECH QUIZ AWARDS PARTYDate: Thursday, July 8, 2004 Ready for something different? Well, leave it to the Mavericks to come up with this. Our Tech Quiz Awards Banquet isn't a Banquet at all. It's more like a party. Instead of a 3-course meal, you'll enjoy pita chips and hummus dip, soft pretzels with mustard and cheeses for dipping. We'll also have several varities of margaritas for you to sample along with ice cold beer and soft drinks to wash it down. The evening will end by 6 pm, so you have time to take in the sights of downtown Ft. Worth. Perhaps a visit to one of the city's many museums, take in a movie or enjoy dinner within walking distance of, or just a short drive from, the Worthington. VICTORY BANQUETDate: Saturday, July 10, 2004 You'll enjoy our Victory Banquet sitting high above the track at Texas Motor Speedway. Cash bars will allow you to purchase the cocktail of your choice. There will also be a bottle of red wine and a bottle of white wine on each table as well as the beautiful complementary wine glasses that we all look forward to taking home. |
