DRIVERS EDUCATION
Parade 2004, hosted by the Maverick Region, will include two back-to-back one-day drivers education events at the Texas Motor Speedway, approximately 25 minutes from downtown Fort Worth. We are excited to announce that each day will be a regular, fully instructed DE - the first time this has been available as part of Parade itself. Participants will be placed in groups with drivers of similar abilities. Novices and beginners will be provided PCA qualified, in-car instructors. This is a perfect opportunity to enter a DE if you have never done one before. Co-entrants can both drive. The TMS road course is a 2.4-mile layout using most of the 1.5-mile banked oval plus a 1-mile infield road course. We will be using the same course the ALMS cars ran, including a chicane on the front straight. TMS is also a hub of activity during Parade 2004 - there will be plenty of Parade activity in and around the track.
The Drivers Education event will be patterned after the events Maverick Region has been hosting for several years. Each participant will get approximately 105 minutes of track time per day. To beat the heat and have you back at the hotel for each evening s festivities, the days will start at 7:30am and end at 3:45pm for the last run group. The events will be held on Wednesday, July 7th and Thursday, July 8th. There is ample space for trailer and rig parking in addition to RVs and camping. Applications for non-Parade attendees can be found HERE If you have questions, please contact the Drivers Education Chairman, John Sandusky at (817) 777-0421
