The '04 Porsche Parade Yokohama RallyThe Tulip Rally PowerPoint presentation is now available. In the pioneering spirit of Texas independence, the ‘04 Parade Committee and the Rally Group invites you to join us as we blaze a new direction for the Parade Rally. If you have never rallied before or have rallied and been frustrated, please consider entering this event. We want you to experience the unique fun that a TSD Rally can be, especially Texas style! We believe that the Parade Rally should be a scenic and fun competition event, that everyone should finish the Parade Rally regardless of experience without getting lost, and that the Parade Rally should not be a physical, mental, or interpersonal endurance event. Our goal is to present an event that the majority of entrants can possibly win while enjoying the unique culture that is Texas in the comfort of your Porsche. There will be four competition classes this year plus a non-competition touring group that will depart after the competitors. We’ve enticed you for a bit with the chart of diagrams, now it’s time to explain. The instructions will look a bit different for this Parade Rally. The official text instructions will still be there but there will also be a graphic diagram representation of the intersection you’re looking for, and the path through that intersection will be shown. This type of instruction is called a tulip instruction and is much easier to quickly interpret leveling the playing field for all. There will be a Rally Seminar prior to the event plus a self-running PowerPoint presentation covering the necessary details. That presentation is now available for you to review. On the morning of July 6, the ‘04 Porsche Parade Yokohama Rally will start, appropriately enough, at the Conservatory of the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens traveling to the longhorn cattle country west of Fort Worth, a land of rolling hills, scenic vistas, and historical significance. We will wind our way north past ranches, lakes, and a few checkpoints to the flat prairie land surrounding Texas Motor Speedway for the Yokohama Ice Cream Social at the Speedway Clubhouse. From there, it will be a very short trip to the afternoon events, the RC car event and the Parade Autocross course walk. In addition, you will be able to become familiar with the area around Texas Motor Speedway where all of the driving events will be held. We look forward with great anticipation to your participation in the ‘04 Parade Yokohama Rally either as a competitor or as a volunteer. Our destination is fun!
