Beach Party

Shell Zone Challenge Results - Click Here

The San Diego Parade would not be complete without some fun in the Sun and the Surf. The Beach Party will be on Tuesday from 3:00 to 8:30 pm, after a big day of Rally adventures. Shortly after the Ice Cream Social the buses will begin departing for the Beach Party at Naval Air Station North Island located in Coronado. Buses will be available from 2:00 to 4:00pm to take you on a fantastic voyage, with incredible San Diego skyline views, to Coronado.

Major Events at the Beach Party:

  • Yokohama Awards Buffet
  • Shell Zone Challenge

Access to the beach party is by bus transport only.

The expansive surf beach has scenic views of beautiful downtown San Diego, Point Loma and Mexico. It is a safe venue, patrolled by city lifeguards. The air and water temperature in July will be very comfortable for sun bathing and swimming.

During social hour we will offer a "no host" bar complete with beer, wine and Margaritas, soda and bottled water. There will be plenty of time to mingle with all your Porsche friends before dinner and enjoy the ambiance complete with a live, 3 piece band and wandering magicians for your enjoyment.

If you are up for more energetic activities, we plan to have Horseshoes, Bocce Ball, Frisbees, Croquet and a water balloon toss. Also, the Zone Challenge will be here at the Beach which includes a Sand Castle Building Contest, a Boogie Board Towing contest and Frisbee Golf. A special "Kids Only" Sand Castle Building contest will also be part of the program. So bring the kids along so they can show off their skills and compete for prizes. Of course, there will be plenty of opportunity to go for a splash or to sunbathe.

Dinner will be an authentic Mexican Buffet (beef, pork, fish, vegetarian) followed by the Rally awards presentation.

After all is said and done, the evening will come to a close with front row seats to enjoy a spectacular sunset. Don't miss it!

Things to remember:

  1. Admittance to the Beach Party and the Zone Challenge is through purchase of the meal ticket only.
  2. Access to the beach party is by bus transport only. This is included in the meal Ticket price.
  3. Kid pricing is available.
  4. As this is on a Military Base, adults must carry a valid ID for presentation upon request. DOD ID is preferable, if you have it.
  5. There are a few showers available to rinse off the salt and sand.
  6. Bring a hat and sunscreen (we hope to have some available). Beach towels and umbrellas would also be great to have.
  7. Bring a variety of clothing – swimsuits, shorts and t-shirts for the warmer part of the afternoon and a sweatshirt / windbreaker and pants for the cooler part of the evening. Once the sun goes down, the weather can cool off and become chilly.
  8. If you have a valid DOD ID card (active duty, retired, DOD civilian, etc.), please let us know during registration.
