05/04/2013 - Eldorado Fun Run Tour , ALT We will need to meet at Moffitt Porsche early for this tour – meet at 8:30 AM, leaving at 9:00 AM sharp, Saturday, May 4th. Don’t be late. We’ll have one stop on the way to Eldorado to stretch our legs. In Eldorado we will be meeting up with the folks from the PCA Ozark (Little Rock) Region and will have a special Porsche parking area set aside for us at the Mayhaw Festival car show. We’ll have lunch with our Porsche brethren from way up north and then will be free to either take in the bands, food, and crafts at the Mayhaw Festival or return to Shreveport. 05/04/2013 - Hampton Rally Rally , MNY A low key fun filled, easy to follow rally with quiz questions and based on landmarks and signsa along the way. No calculations, No time checkpoints. Will finish with a gourmet picnic and soft drinks served. Awards given at end of rally. Open to all Porsches and lesser cars, everyone is welcome to have some fun. 05/05/2013 - 30th Anniversary Deutsche Marque Concours d’Elegance Concours , National PCA Potomac , along with the local Mercedes and BMW Clubs, will host the 30th Anniversary Deutsche Marque Concours d’Elegance on Sunday, 5 May. This is Northern Virginia’s major German Car show which will be held at Nottoway Park, Vienna, Va, 8:30 - 4:00. There are both “judged “Concours” class and “Wash & Shine” People’s Choice classes. Cool trophies are awarded at a wine & Cheese reception at 3 PM. This being the 50th anniversary of the 911 series, we are hoping to get a 911 from each model year. 05/07/2013 - Spring Opener Social , FV Spring has finally arrived! Detail your car and come out for the official "spring opener" for our region at Jim & Linda's Supper Club in Pipe, on the beautiful eastern shore of Lake Winnebago. Social and informal car show from 5:00 PM -m 6:30. Dinner from the menu to follow. This is an annual event and always highly attended! Those coming from the Fox Cities may join a car caravan to the event.

05/10/2013 - ARPCA Watkins Glen DE (May 10-12) Drivers Education , ALL Come run WGI with the ARPCA Region. We will drive the 3.4 miles Grand Prix configuration which is enjoyed by both new as well as experienced drivers. On Friday we will host a lapping day for instructors and very advanced students. The DE will run Saturday and Sunday. Our spousal auxiliary will be arranging activities for those who are not interested in being at the track.
05/10/2013 - Potomac's Mid-Ohio DE Drivers Education , POT This is Potomac's annual trek to Mid Ohio Race track. If you want a challenging track, then Mid Ohio is for you. This is a 3 day only event on one of the most challenging courses we visit. If you like technical tracks that are also very fast then this is the event for you! Don't miss out on the chance to drive ths track. Once again we are co-hosting this event with Maumee Valley Region of PCA.

05/17/2013 - 4th Annual Spring Waterfalls Tour Tour , FV Join us for this weekend tour to Munising, MI, to enjoy some spectacular scenery from the road, and beautiful waterfall displays from a short hike. After the extraordinary amount of snow the U.P. received this year, the water levels and run-off should create some outstanding sights! Be sure to bring your camera. This is our fourth waterfalls tour to the U.P. courtesy of our Yooper member, Al Curran, and all excursions been highly successful. This one is surely going to amazing. Group will depart Friday, May 17 @ 1:00 PM from Green Bay and arrive early evening in Munising. Others may just meet us at the hotel in Munising. Tour is all day Saturday. Members return home at their leisure. Motel accommodations available at the Americinn in Munising. Last day to reserve a room is May 10th, or when block of rooms is all taken.

05/25/2013 - Sommerfest 2013 - CAROLINAS SIGNATURE EVENT Multi-Event , CAR Friday night - Sunday Night! This is our Region’s signature event. It’s generally held on Memorial Day weekend and it includes a medley of “car” activities along with plenty of social and relaxed time added to the mix. This year, it’s being hosted in our Upstate Area at the Embassy Suites in Greenville, SC – and sponsored by our friends at Porsche of Greenville and Protech Motorsports. What’s so special and why should you attend? First off, it’s a great getaway weekend – with drives on fun local roads and lots of opportunities to hang out with friends and new acquaintances. We start with a happy hour on Friday evening, roll into the Concours d’Elegance on Saturday morning – this year it’s a People’s Choice format (see details of the changes below). After lunch, we’ll head out for a fun “gimmick” rally and then return for an open evening to make dinner plans on your own with a group of your choosing. On Sunday morning, we’ll get things revved up at a local airfield with a competitive autocross and we’ll wrap up on Sunday evening with a hosted banquet, awards, and more socializing. The cost is $80 per person, $160 per couple and will include fees for all events, dinner on Sunday, and a knit polo shirt embroidered with the event and sponsor logos.

This is a fantastic, friendly, and no-nonsense HPDE event that accommodates drivers of every level. Plenty of track time and socializing, with quality classroom instruction and a heavy emphasis on safety, makes this event a must-do each Spring. 05/31/2013 - Shenandoah's 17th Annual Richmond Porsche Meet (RPM) Multi-Event , SHN Join the Shenandoah Region for an enjoyable weekend May 31 – June 2 in historic Richmond, VA. Friday-evening participants will gather to prep their cars at Dave’s Auto Spa for the upcoming festivities and hang out and “kick the tires” at Euroclassics Porsche. On Saturday, we will host a tops-only concours along the banks of the scenic James River that will conclude with a catered lunch at our famous “Café Carrera.” Afterward, we will have a short gimmick rally/fun drive to one of Richmond’s well-known destinations, an informative tech session at Euroclassics Porsche, and an awards dinner banquet with a guest speaker. We will complete the weekend with an autocross on the 1/3-mile banked oval track at Southside Speedway, with an optional boxed lunch. All Porsche enthusiasts are welcome! We will leave from the Green Bay area early morning and drive north to the "Tip of the Thumb" to drive our cars onto the ferry that will take us to Washington Island for the day. RMR is once again hosting a Ladies' Day DE at the Colorado State Patrol Track in Golden, CO. The DE will be held on Saturday, June 8th. The DE is open to all women and all makes of cars. 06/21/2013 - It's All About the Roads Tour , RED This event will be run as a "Mille Miglia" format, covering over 625 miles (1042 km) in 2 1/2 days on truly outstanding "driver's roads," all with very good to excellent pavement. Route goes from Santa Rosa to Red Bluff and back, via Fort Bragg.
06/21/2013 - Bogus Basin Bacchanalia 2013 Multi-Event , SS The Silver Sage Region will again host the Bogus Basin Bacchanalia (BBB) weekend that includes PCA’s only hillcross. BBB is a multi-region event first held in 1976 that includes the hillcross, a TSD rally, and a mystery event on June 21-23, 2013. The BBB weekend starts with registration and a get-acquainted dinner on Friday evening at Porsche of Boise in Boise, Idaho. Saturday is dedicated to the hillcross, where you can drive your Porsche as it was meant to be driven: safe, fast and on a beautiful stretch of winding mountain road. The course is nearly two miles long and features eight major turns and over 500 feet of elevation gain. If you’re heading east to Traverse City for Parade autocrossing, stop by and get some hillcross seat time. If you want to be challenged by the BBB hillcross, be sure to register early since the number of entrants in the hillcross is limited. New this year is a chance for “fun runs” on the hillcross course, with no timing, just drive at your own pace, with an experienced hillcrosser along if you like. On Sunday a TSD rally is run in and around Boise. Sunday’s final event is a Champagne reception and awards banquet, at which trophies will be handed out. Sometime during the weekend, a mystery event will take place. Since it’s a mystery, that’s all you get to know for now. 06/22/2013 - Parade 2013 Other , National Nestled on the shores of Lake Michigan and the Grand Traverse Bay, the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa will host our fun filled event this summer. With 900 acres of rolling greens, woodlands and waterfront, a multitude of vineyards, orchards and coastal roadways nearby, there is much to see, much to do, and much to enjoy! 06/29/2013 - 2nd Annual VaVaVroom at Pech Merle Winery Tour , RED Come celebrate those seductive headlights and rear-ends as we "Va Va VROOM" our way through the beautiful Sonoma County Roads to the magnificent Dry Creek Valley. After we vroom through the valley we will enjoy dinner under Pech Merle’s “Grand Cru” (Grand Cru is a French wine term that traditionally translates to "magnificent growth"), our magnificent oak tree. Tri-tip and chicken will be on the grill and we will be tasting our award-winning lineup of Sauvignon Blanc, Rosé, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. We look forward to celebrating our 3 vintages, 7 varietals and 28 medals with all of you. 07/05/2013 - July Madness (Red, White, and Zoom) Club Race , MOH Mid-Ohio Region (MORPCA) presents their annual club race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on July 5 – 7, 2013. This will be a three-day event with practice and fun races on Friday, sprint races on Saturday, and enduros on Sunday. Please note, this year we have moved the event from mid-August to early July. We promise to provide great weather with plenty of sunshine! Widely known as one of the most competitive tracks in the U.S., Mid-Ohio is a permanent road course of 2.4 miles and a 15-turn configuration. Among the track's signature turns are the Keyhole, the Esses (Madness), Thunder Valley, and the Carousel. The historic circuit has been home to all the noteworthy road racing series for over 50 years, including Can-Am, American Le Mans series, Formula 5000, IMSA GT, Trans-Am, Champ Car, and the Indy series. You will find the Mid-Ohio track to be technical and fun. You will not be disappointed. An advanced three-day driver education (DE) will run in conjunction with the club race. Drivers will run solo. However, our experienced and advanced instructors will be available for those drivers new to Mid-Ohio or for those who want some extra coaching. We can provide limited instruction to racers that have not raced Mid-Ohio. Do you still need more track time? The Mid-Ohio track school will have a Test & Tune and lapping sessions on Thursday for those racers desiring additional track time. Contact the track directly. This is not a MORPCA or PCA event. Again, this year, we will keep the track open 24 hours per day from 3:00 PM Thursday, July 4th until 7:00 PM Sunday, July 7th. You can camp free, work on your car, or just relax. Please note, RV campers may be accessed a modest charge by the track. 07/13/2013 - Porsches on the Plaza Other , RED Come joint the Redwood Region as we host our annual gathering in Sonoma's beautiful downtown square. There will be approximately 40 Porsches on display. There will be a "people's choice" contest. Ample room to bring and enjoy a picnic lunch. Event fee of $20 is a donation to our sponsored charity, CASA. We will also have a couple of bicycle tours leaving from the square in the morning.
07/13/2013 - Iola Car Show and Rafting on the Little Wolf River Other , FV Attend the Iola Old Car show in the morning, and then meet at the home of our newsletter editor who resides along the shoreline of the Little Wolf River. Tubes and beverage raft provided; BYOB. We will drive about 2 miles up river, and then float back to our hosts' residence ( a three hour tour!). Potluck dinner on the patio/deck to follow. Always a wet and fun time!

08/10/2013 - ARPCA Pitt Race DE (Aug 10-11) Drivers Education , ALL Pitt Race (formerly known as BeaveRun) is a relatively new facility just 20 minutes north of Pittsburgh International Airport and is a welcome addition to the Western Pennsylvanian region. With it’s North Track, a 1.4 mile course and the Vehicle Dynamics Area (VDA), 5+ acres of pavement for auto-crossing and car control PIRC caters to new drivers as well as seasoned professionals. This event is perfect for first time participants! For all “newer” DE divers we structure the event to include a combination DE and Car Control Clinic. In addition to time on the main track we include specialized, in-car instruction with specific activities on the Skid Pad, Slalom Course and Threshold Braking Course on the VDA.

08/16/2013 - Legends of the Autobahn Other , National August 16, 2013, will mark the fifth annual Legends Of The Autobahn concours d’elegance and show—a celebration of German automotive engineering. An intimate event by Monterey standards, Legends has been labeled “the best-kept secret on the peninsula” by several automotive publications. A display of the four dominant German enthusiast marques, the concours is hosted by the BMW Car Club of America, the Mercedes-Benz Club of America, the Porsche Club of America, and the Audi Club of North America, and membership is required to enter a car in the concours or display field. However, while club affiliation is recommended for viewers, guests are welcome. Legends Of The Autobahn includes “club corral” parking for the four marques, and separate judging areas for each club. Participants may register either for the club corrals or concours judging. There may also be a separate parking area available for non-participants. Each club may have a display of special cars, or a special theme for a select group of cars. Viewers may encounter rare models, from historic Audi rally cars to the BMW Zagato Roadster that debuted here in 2012. You’ll find everything from factory-prepared specials to beautiful cars lovingly buffed by their enthusiast owners. A special luncheon and event shirts will be available for purchase. Participants are encouraged to place orders for both in advance. Whether you plan to park your car in a club corral or submit it for concours judging, please register early, as space is limited. Special parking for Porsches will be provided in a separate location. We had a large turnout last year and expect the number to grow even larger this year. 08/17/2013 - 6th All Euro Car Show Charity , ABS The Porsche Club of America Absaroka Region of will be hosting its 6th Annual All Euro Car Show “On the Green” at Rocky Mountain College in Billings on Saturday, August 17, 2013. The All Euro Car Show will showcase local European cars of all makes and provide information to local Porsche owners on the Porsche Club of America Absaroka Region. This year the featured marque will be Jaguar. Jaguar USA will be bringing some special Jaguars for the show. The All Euro Car Show is not a concourse d'Elegance, but rather a funfilled afternoon of like minded car fans showing off their vehicles to the public for a good cause. An entry fee of $10.00 will be charged per vehicle with all net proceeds being donated to the Rocky Mountain College Scholarship Fund, and the Absaroka Region’s Scholarship at MSUB College of Technology. Set-up and registration will begin at 9am (entries accepted until noon). The show will open at 10am and will go through 3pm with awards presented at 2:30pm. We will run both north and south in the two days to expose you to the natural beauty and fabulous Porsche roads of our region.
