A High Performance Drivers Education event will also be held on Feb. 9-10 at Roebling Road Raceway. To regsiter, go to:

This is a 2 day driving event focused on developing high performance driving skills for all drivers. Instructors will be provided for all students in the Green (novice)and Blue (advanced novice) groups. Space is limited to 22 drivers for student run groups, and 25 for solo groups.
In addition, Cass Whitehead will be a special guest instructor for the DE. Cass is Chief Driving Instructor for the Porsche Track Experience USA, and has over 30 years road racing experience – with a long list of major achievements. Highlights of his career are attached. He will conduct classes and will be available for individual instruction for $50 per session. Sign up under “OPTIONS”. He will lead an optional course walk at noon Saturday -- plan your lunch accordingly.

MEDICAL: HPDE events expose participants to mental stress, high acceleration, braking and turning, as well as the possibility of high temperatures, loud noises and vibration. For safety, you should be in good health and free from untreated high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by participation in this type of event. Contact your physician if you have questions about your participation.

GATE HOURS/TRAILERS : Gates will be open at 5:00 pm Thursday, 2/7 and will remain open until 6:00 pm Sunday, 2/10. Camping is allowed for a fee. Remember quiet hours are 8:00 pm to 8:00 am every day. No loud motors. Also, do not drive trailers on Ziegler Rd. Rather, continue on Rte. 80 past Ziegler Rd. and turn right on Rte. 17 for about 2 miles and turn right onto Roebling Road to the track.

TECH AND REGISTRATION: Registration and tech for the School will be at the track Friday morning. Registration for the DE will be at the hotel on Friday starting about 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and at track on Saturday morning 7:00 am to 7:30 am. Tech for "trailer" cars will be at the track on Friday evening and Saturday morning. "Street" cars may be teched at the track, or at the Country Inn starting Friday at about 6-7 pm, or at the track Saturday morning 7:00 am to 7:30. Again, remember, no loud motors at RRR during quiet times (8:00 pm to 8:00 am), and 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Sunday. Strictly enforced by RRR management.
HOTEL AND SOCIALS: The host hotel is the Country Inn and Suites, Savannah Airport, 21 Yvette Johnson Hagins Dr., phone 912-966-1717. Reserve early and mention Florida Citrus – PCA to get the special rate of $89+ per day. The rate is valid until Jan. 24, only. This is a very busy weekend in Savannah, so hotels will fill up.

In addition to track events your admission also includes a social Friday evening at the Country Inn. Lots of pizza, wings, beer, wine, and good times. Questions, please contact or 970-406-2090.

HARNESSES AND RESTRAINTS: Starting January 1, 2019, the DE Minimum Standards will be expanded to state that if a driver uses a harness system, he or she will ALSO be required to utilize a head and neck restraint system, commonly referred to as a HANS device. A head and neck restraint device is an integral part of the harness system. Because the rule of equal restraint always applies, if a driver uses a harness system there must also be a harness system available and used by the passenger. Thus, both the driver and passenger will be required to use a HANS device. Head and neck restraint system devices are now more affordable and easily purchased online. Contact Linda at Apex Performance 866-505-2739. She is an expert in fitting helmets and restraints.

CAMPING. RV/Camping on grounds at RRR is available for a flat fee of $50 for 2 or 3 nights, plus the RRR fee for electricity usage. See "Options" to register.
ENABLE TEXT MESSAGING: We may need to send text messages during the event with important information. Please be sure to enable text messaging in your clubreg profile.

RIDE ALONGS: PCA regulations severely limit “Taste of the Track” ride alongs for non-driving students. We may offer a low speed, no helmet track tour on Sunday – NO LOUD CARS. Instructors may give ride alongs to driving students in a run group one step higher than the student’s group. For example, an instructor may give a ride along to a blue student in the white group. During such student ride alongs, the instructor must drive at speeds appropriate to the run group and must obey the passing rules for that group.
