Central Iowa Region 50th Anniversary Car Show at the Amana Colonies

Saturday, June 15, 2019

Central Iowa Region celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2019 with a series of milestone events highlighted by a car show to be held in conjunction with the Amana Wurst Festival on Saturday, June 15.

Pre-registration is required for those wishing to display their Porsches at the Festival. Enrollment is limited. Please email Central Iowa PCA (link to to register.

The Wurst Festival (link to features German sausage, beer, wine, and lively music. Honoring “all things sausage,” it runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Amana Colonies.

The Amanas consist of seven villages--Amana, East Amana, High Amana, Middle Amana, South Amana, West Amana, and Homestead—located on 26,000 acres in east-central Iowa.

One of America’s longest-lived communal societies, the Amana Colonies began in 1714 as a religious movement in Germany. Religious persecution led the founders to search for a new home, which first took them to a site near Buffalo, New York, and then (1855) to Iowa’s rich farmland and plentiful supplies of stone, wood, and water.

Today, the Amana Colonies are a National Historic Landmark that attract hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.

The Central Iowa Region was officially incorporated by the PCA on July 22, 1969.
