Early last winter, members of the Las Vegas Region were invited to a meeting at Gaudin Porsche in preparation of the Taycan rollout. At the event, the Gaudin team showed that they live their motto of “Serving our community and our clients is not just what we do, it is who we are.” They did this by combining the excitement surrounding the newest Porsche model and having Paul Vautrinot share his story with us.

Paul is a recovering addict who lived with the homeless population in the underground storm drainage channels of Las Vegas for three years. He was able to change his life and became the lead case manager for Freedom Sober Living House. It is a facility which offers the homeless population housing, drug counseling, case management, job training, and a GED program.

In early June, Gaudin Porsche let the Region know that Freedom House Sober Living had started a new project and that they could use some help. The facility had acquired 12 new apartments which needed to be furnished. The Director for Freedom House Sober Living said that any household item, regardless of the size, would be used immediately in new apartments.

Todd Trimble, owner of Trophy Performance, immediately volunteered to assist. Todd opened his shop as the drop location for donations. Many of our members brought boxes and bags filled with utensils, dishes, towels, and bedding. Other members gave furniture and televisions. Todd Trimble and the Trophy crew made many trips to the facility to deliver the items.

By the end of June, the Las Vegas Region members had successfully helped furnish all the new apartments. Our members gave so many donations that Freedom House Sober Living has a jump start on their next housing project.

The sincere gratitude and thanks that we received from the residents touched our hearts. The members of the Las Vegas Region made an immediate and positive difference in the lives of others!

Every year across Porsche Club of America, members are making a difference with many heartwarming and thoughtful acts of kindness. The above are a few of those community contributions.
