Members-Only Raffle winner takes delivery of 911 in Zuffenhausen

Wednesday, May 14, 2014

We'd call it a very good day when you buy a Porsche, especially if you check the option for Porsche's European delivery program. As of today, longtime PCA member Michael Hohls can check both off his list after heading to Porsche’s Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen factory to pick up his 50th Anniversary Edition 911. But he didn’t have to commit $124,100+dollars for it — he won it in Porsche Club of America’s Fall 2013 Members-Only Raffle.

Michael was greeted by Porsche employees in front of the Porsche Museum, where his new 911 was parked. Typical of vehicle collection at Porsche’s Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen location, Michael and a couple of his family members were given a guided tour of the factory and the Porsche Museum, treated to a meal at Porsche’s restaurant, Christophorus, and put up in a nearby hotel.

The 50th Anniversary Edition, based on the Carrera S, has some unique features, such as a wide body normally reserved for all-wheel-drive Carrera 4 models, a Powerkit that increases horsepower of the 3.8-liter flat six from 400 hp to 430 hp, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) tuned for the increased rear track, and special 20-inch Fuchs-style wheels. Production of the special-edition 911 is limited to 1,963.

Congratulations Michael!
