Video: MotorWeek reviews Macan Turbo, more "911 wagon" than "deflated Cayenne"

Monday, December 22, 2014

The Macan has been put through its paces by numerous automotive publications (including Porsche Panorama's First Drive review, April 2014), and the general consensus is that Porsche succeeded in making it fun to drive. The latest video road test of the Macan Turbo by MotorWeek confirms this, and additionally gives the viewer an in-depth visual tour of Porsche's latest CSUV.

With its 400-horsepower, twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 and six-piston front brake calipers, MotorWeek achieves a 0-60 miles-per-hour time of 4.5 seconds, a sport-car-scaring quarter-mile time of 13.1 seconds at 105 mph, and 60-0 mph in 110 feet, all but confirming that the quickest Macan approaches — and sometimes surpasses — the performance of the 911 Carrera.

Other bits, such as a look under the CSUV's plastic engine cover, a breakdown of the interior, and a few runs through a slalom and lane-change exercise, make this video worth a watch. For the Macan Turbo road test, head below, and if you want to see the full episode, click here.
