PCA Spotlight: Aftermarket Porsche 911 headlights: Flat 6 Illumination, Audette Collection, and 9Eleven

Tuesday, December 11, 2018

Air-cooled Porsche 911 owners from 1964-1994 are faced with several options when it comes to headlights. Aside from replacing a blown bulb for your stock H5 headlights or sourcing a set of European H4s, there are several companies who offer modern LED headlights with superior lighting. In this video, we install LED headlights from Flat 6 Illumination, Audette Collection, and 9Eleven and compare them to the stock H5 lamps. Watch the video above.

Here are purchase and information links to the three headlights we covered in the video. Prices are current as of Dec. 11, 2018.

Flat 6 Illumination: Starting at $1,250 at

Audette Collection: Starting at $1,095

9Eleven Raven S: $2,400

This video is for informational and entertainment purposes only.

Please note: The Porsche used in this video is a 1987 911 Carrera, which came stock with H5 headlights. 911s and 964s through the 1994 model year used the same headlights. Wiring on your 911 may be different, so please check with the manufacturer to be sure your next set of LED headlamps is plug and play out of the box.

Also, the "sugar scoop" style sealed beam headlamps from 1969-1986 uses the same mounting locations (top and bottom tabs) as these aftermarket LED lights. From 1987, Porsche started using four screws and different mounting tabs for the headlights, which is what's seen in this video.
