The Carrera GT ranks as one of the top Porsches to drive due to its shrieking 5.7-liter naturally aspirated V10, six-speed manual gearbox, and a curb weight under 3,100 pounds, but the fact is most owners don’t put many miles on them. Fortunately there’s an automotive engineer in the UK who’s put nearly 67,000 miles on his, and he allowed Charles Craven of TheSUPERCARDRIVER to take it out for a day.

This particular model has an interesting history, as it was totaled early in its life and sold to the current owner by the insurance company. Once in possession of Porsche’s carbon-fiber supercar, he proceeded to fix it himself over the course of three years and even performs maintenance on it to this day. Though we don’t have exact figures on what it costs to maintain a Carrera GT up to 67,000 miles, we do know it’s quite pricey and normally requires a high-end shop or dealership that has the ability to work on one.

In the video above, Craven talks about what it’s like to attain real world driving experience on a cold winter day, and even better, the videographer made sure to get high-quality driving shots with great audio. Be sure to put aside nine minutes to enjoy the film.
