Porscheplatz Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Porscheplatz?

A Porscheplatz is the hub of activity for PCA members and Porsche owners at select IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship races across the US and Canada. Porscheplatzen are sponsored by Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) and are staffed by PCA volunteers. They are open to all PCA members and Porsche owners. At the Porscheplatz tent, there are presentations by Porsche GT Team drivers, Porsche Motorsport North America, Porsche Global Partners and more. Activities include opportunities to win prizes, including exclusive Hot Pit Experiences, and take part in special paddock, team and transporter tours. Watch the races trackside or via live feed from TV monitors in the comfort of the Porscheplatz tent while enjoying a cool refreshment. Many times Parade Laps are offered, giving attendees the chance to drive their own Porsche on the track (led under controlled slow, speeds.) Printed agendas are available at the Porscheplatz to plan your race day accordingly.

Another part of the Porscheplatz experience is the “Porsche Only” Car Corral - a dedicated parking area exclusively for Porsche vehicles. The “Porsche Only” Car Corral parking is usually located adjacent to the Porscheplatz tent when possible, but this varies from track to track. You will see Porsches of all ages and models from all over the U.S. It is truly an amazing sight to see them all grouped together.

What is a PCA Car Corral?

A PCA Car Corral is a Porsche Club of America sponsored event, and staffed by PCA volunteers. PCA Car Corrals and Porscheplatzen may appear similar, even with some of the same activities. You will also find a “Porsche Only” Car Corral – a dedicated parking area at a PCA Car Corral. Traditionally, PCA Car Corrals are held each year at the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona, Daytona, FL and the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion Races, at Laguna Seca, CA. PCA Car Corrals are also open to PCA members and Porsche owners.

Tickets

Tickets for IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship Races may be purchased directly from the respective track.  You’ll find special Porsche / Car Corral ticket packages offered, which include your general admission and “Porsche Only” Car Corral parking ticket.  Ticket prices vary from track to track. All IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship races are kid-friendly.

What if I go the event but don't bring a Porsche?

If you are going to the event and NOT driving a Porsche, you are still welcome to the Porscheplatz or PCA Car Corral tent with your general admission ticket to the races. You do not have to purchase the Porsche / Car Corral package offered by the track. Parking passes vary from track to track, so check when purchasing tickets. Regardless of the track, only Porsche vehicles are allowed in the “Porsche Only” Car Corral. No exceptions.

How do I register for the Porscheplatz or PCA Car Corral tent?

Porscheplatzen and PCA Car Corral tents are open to PCA members and all Porsche owners with a general admission ticket to the race. When you arrive at the tent, we’ll ask you to fill out a registration form and register for the drawings. Be sure to bring your PCA membership card or proof of Porsche ownership for admittance.  (key, insurance papers etc.)  You will receive a wristband that is your admittance to enter the tent.  Don’t lose it, because you’ll need it to re-enter the tent.
