912E fuel injection ground and poor running engine

Vehicle Information: Model: 912E; Year: 1976; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): Type 4, stock, removed and stored original muffler and air pump; Total Mileage: 50,000;

Not a question but a lesson learned to help others. My 912E is very original and I would like to keep it that way. For the second time my FI started acting up so I got out the book and started doing the diagnostics, after everything checked out I started considering replacing the FI with carbs.

Fuel Pump Replacement in carbureted 912E

Vehicle Information: Model: 912E; Year: 1976; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 2.2 with weber carbs.; Total Mileage: 155,000;

I need to purchase a fuel pump for this car. It has had a Facet fuel pump for the past 10 years. I am considering a rotary pump for replacement, but don't know anything about them. The one I am thinking of purchasing is gravity fed. Is that feasible for this car considering where it would be located? What do you suggest as the most dependable for this type setup?

Vehicle Information: Model: 356B S; Year: 1962; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 1750 Kit; Total Mileage: 100k +;

I sent you a question about the sending unit a short while ago. Additional info - the original one was 7 1/4 inches from top of gasket to top of sleeve and the new one is 7 3/8". Was there more than one tank for that year? Any other possible explanation?

Fuel line routing

Vehicle Information: Model: 912E; Year: 1976; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): Type 4, 2157cc, Raby build; Total Mileage: 104000;

After removing the fuel lines - adjacent to the trans shift tube - to the engine, and having new ones made for my 912E, I can't remember which is the feed and which is the return. Can you help? I've had conflicting info. I think that the outboard line is the pressure line and the line closest to the shift tube is the return.

Plugged gas tank vent

Vehicle Information: Model: 356C; Year: 1965; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 1600SC; Total Mileage: 190000;

The gas tank vent in my 1965 356 SC coupe is plugged. Lots of hissing as I remove the cap. I had the inside of the tank cleaned and coated but when I run a thin stiff wire into the tank vent the wire seems to hit the tank bottom. What is my problem and what do I do to fix it?

Weber Carburettors

Gas Tank Painting

Vehicle Information: Model: Speedster; Year: 1955; Body Type: Convertible; Engine (type, size, modifications): 1600; Total Mileage: 81000;

Want to repaint the gas tank - Is there anything I should know about pulling it out so I don't damage the fuel cock or anything else?Also...after a long drive - anything over 30 minutes or so....the car stops idling whenever my foot comes off the accelerator...basically the car stops running when I come to stops and I have to keep my right foot on the brake and my right heel on the accelerator to keep it running. Any advice?

LARGE AIR FILTERS FOR 40IDF WEBERS

Vehicle Information: Model: 912; Year: 1969; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 1750 CC; Total Mileage: 70000;

When I purchased Weber carbs for my 912 they came with small filters and I was told that they also come with large ones. Can I convert the K&N filters that I have for my Solexes to work with the Webers? I have heard there is a interference problem with the Webers. Is there a fix?
