oil temp sender update/back date

Vehicle Information: Year: 1980; Body Type: Targa;

I am going to update /back date my oil temp guage to an earlier style with real numbers. I have the oil temp part of the guage, but I need the part number for the sender that is compatible. I can't find it listed in the archives. Thanks a ton for your input.

83 SC Erratic Druck Press

Vehicle Information: Year: 1983; Body Type: Cabriolet;

My druck press gauge recently became erratic, bouncing between 5 and 2. Movement is much more than normal, not just up and down with rpm, more of a bouncing needle. Problem just started. I'm in the Northeast and it's cold now (not sure if this matters) but have never had this problem in winter before. Any idea what could be causing this? many thanks!

Prior to becoming a PCA member and having access to this forum, I installed the Ignitor Module, and for the power source I wired to the spare fuse block provided for the Sportmatic Trans option. This differs I see from this Forums earlier answers. Could this have contributed to my current condition of no spark which I questioned this forum earlier today? Sorry for multiple questions.

no spark

Vehicle Information: Year: 1974; Body Type: Coupe;

quick overview: turned off foglights, engine shut down like it was a kill switch. Can not start. Local Porsche/BMW mechanic is checking out for short and what may be fried. If the orig. CD box is fried, I assume the best is to replace with rebuilt Bosch and not PermaTune or MSD?

Vehicle Information: Year: 1979; Body Type: Targa;

I have a 1979 sc targa and need to replace alternator. Is this an internal voltage regulator or external? It is an American issue car but it looks to me as if there is an external regulator under the cowling.

No tachometer signal

Vehicle Information: Year: 1978; Body Type: Coupe;

My CD box has no tachometer signal coming from the black/violet wire terminal on the CD box. Does that mean the CD box is bad? The engine runs fine. I do get the tachometer to work if I take the distributor signal green wire and jump it to the black/violet wire going to the tachometer but the tachometer is not as accurate.

Electrical short

Vehicle Information: Year: 1977; Body Type: Coupe;

I was driving about 65/70 mph, the fuel/ oil volume gauge fogged up and the moter died, it turns over good, but it doesn't seem to be firing? HISTORY: I've owned the 911 for over 1 year, but it was stored for 2 1/2 years before that. I've replaced 48-50 wires, ( mices ) I sure could use some advice. 110,000 miles
