sc hard to start when the engine is hot

Model: 911sc, Year:1978, Mileage:104000, Type of use:Street use only
My 78 911sc is hard to start when the engine is hot. I was told the fuel accumulator was bad so I replaced it. Twice! I went to my first Porsche outing this year last night and had to crank it for about a minute or two before it finally started when we were leaving. Any ideas? Thanks

911 1980 SC muffler 3.0

Model: SC 3.0, Year:1980, Mileage:120,00, Type of use:Street use only
Can a second exhaust outlet be cut into a stock muffler without destroying its sound to a large degree? I am considering having a muffler shop cut a hole and add a second pipe. Will this destroy the effect of the muffler?

Engine Oil Level

Model: 911S, Year:77, Mileage:1,500, Type of use:Street use only
77' 911S Engine rebuild 1,500 miles ago. When car has been sitting for three or more days, it emits excessive smoke when starting. When changing oil, I discovered that there was no oil in the tank. I removed case plug and found that all the oil was in the engine. Is there some kind of a check valve fix to avoid going inside to replace the oil pump? I sure hope so. Thanks, Joe Kaelin

motor vibration at 2200rpm

Model: carerra cab, Year:1984, Mileage:89000, Type of use:Street use only
1] a motor vibration at 2200 rpm,no loss of power.Stops at about 2600 rpm, valve lifters havent been adjusted for 10 years, since only 12000miles have been driven, also a rubbing sound in front end that comes occasionly which can be stopped by touching brake or swerving the car,for 10 years only put in a fuel pump fuse and rear brake pads for only drive 1000miles a year,I change the oil and filter every year myself

exhaust studs

Model: 911SC, Year:1981, Mileage:85,000, Type of use:Both Street & Track
Greetings,I have a 1981, 911SC that I am working on. Engine is out of car and is on an engine stand; I have managed to remove the old heat exchangers and only broke two studs flush at flange level so I dont think EDM will be necessary. On an engine this old, I was thinking replacement of all exhaust manifold studs would be a wise move. What would you recommend as the best procedure for exhaust stud removal? Best Regards,Gary

Oil change and switch to synthetic

Model: 911SC, Year:1983, Mileage:104K, Type of use:Street use only
I intend to switch my 83 911SC 3.0 from mineral oil to synthetic (Mobil 1, 0W40). The car has been sitting for about a month. Since the oil has drained to it's lowest points in the engine and the tank, should I drain the oil undisturbed, or warm it up first? Also, there will undoubtedly be some mineral oil remaining in the system. Will this cause a problem when adding the synthetic?

engine fan pulley

Model: 911sc, Year:1980, Mileage:90000, Type of use:Street use only
I have a 1980 SC Targa with a 3.6 993 engine and would like to convert from a dual belt fan pulley to a single belt pulley

recommended oil filter

Model: 911, Year:1975, Mileage:6000, Type of use:Street use only
I was wondering what type of oil filter would be best to use on my 911. I purchased a K&N oil filter from Performance Products, but haven't changed the oil yet. I've read that certain oil filters can't handle the pressure from the 911. Is the K&N okay to use, or should I go with a porsche filter? Thanks very much!
