1979 911SC Starting After Storage

Vehicle Information: Model: 911sc; Year: 1979; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 150k;

1979 911SC Running on Three or Four Cylinders over 6000 rpm.

Vehicle Information: Model: 911SC; Year: 1979; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 155,000;

When I drive my car to the limits (autocross, out an empty canyon), morethan occasionally it willstart running on three or four cylinders. This only happens when the revsare up to 6000 or overand I'm letting off the throttle. The only way to solve this is to shutthe engine off for a few seconds and then restart, then everything goesback to normal. Do you have any ideas how to solve this problem?

1976 912E Thermal Reactors

Vehicle Information: Model: 912E; Year: 1976; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 131000;

The car has the stock thermal reactors, which are rusted and have begunto rattle. Can I remove these, and if so, what do I replace them with? I do not live in California so pollution devices are a not concern. Arethere any after market add ons to increase the horsepower? I have beentold replacing the thermal reactors with headers (not sure what thatmeans), will increase the horsepower. Is that true?

1981 911SC Broken Head Bolt Options

Vehicle Information: Model: 911; Year: 1981; Body Type: Targa; Total Mileage: 114000;

I was just told that a few head bolts on one side of my engine arebroken. The mechanic said a rebuild would be $8,000; the value of the caris probably about $12,000. I seem to be faced with some not so pleasantchoices. Here are my questions:Are there any other options besides a complete rebuild?Do you know of a good source for used engines?Is there another less painful option?
