wheel damage

Vehicle Information: Model: 911; Year: 1988; Body Type: Targa; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.2; Total Mileage: 42,400;

Chris,I dinged the rim of a factory dish style wheel on a curb. The ding goes into the aluminum, with a gauge about 1" long. It is not structural, and didn't bend the wheel. Are there any products or procedures to wet sand it flush and re-clear coat the repaired area? If so, what clear coat should I use. (I did search the web before contacting you)Like other members I get a lot out of your postings and appreciate your efforts.Regards,Mark

Hot Rear Wheel on 87 911

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 ; Year: 1987; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): stock 3.2; Total Mileage: 70,000;

Recently the driver-side rear wheel on my 87 carrera becomes very hot after driving a short distance. It is much hotter than what I experienced before from radiant engine heat. I have owned the car for 10+ years. The engine temp has not increased concurrent with my observing this problem. Any thoughts on what could be causing the excessive heat will be appreciated.Thank you very much.

Replacement Tires

Vehicle Information: Model: Carrera; Year: 1987; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): stock; Total Mileage: 112000;

This is a street stock car with no DE or racing usage. Presently have Dunlop SP Sport 8000 tires which gave me about 30000 miles of use over 5 or 6 years. I am considering replacing with Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2available through Tirerack.comIs this a reasonable choice? If not,any other recommendations?

I have noticed that the inside of my rear tires on both sides are wearing more then the outside. Pressure is correct for stock 16" wheels. I have only had the car for 10k miles and the tires where new when I bought the car.Assuming wheel allignment is correct, what is the next possible cause?

17" Fuchs replica wheels

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 Carerra; Year: 1988; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 3.2 Stock; Total Mileage: 80,000;

I've noticed that Rota makes a 17" Porsche Fuchs replica wheel - although the price will bring tears to your eyes and cramps to your stomach.Do you, or anyone you know have any experience with these wheels? In looking at aftermarket wheels is there any type of certification you should look for?thanks,Todd
