Broken Gas Cap retaining strap

I need a source for a quality gas cap "strap" that attaches to the cap and the body. Anybody replaced this themselves ? Thanks

learning to understand: P0450 - code 99 - tank pressure sensor

Engine light started coming on a couple months back - indication is large EVAP leak... I've been fiddling with it trying to diagnose without taking anything apart yet.

I replaced the gas cap, and started clearing the codes.  I used a durametric scanner to see some more details... but I'm still learning how to use it in my spare time.

I pulled this code (P0450 - porsche fault code 99 - tank pressure sensor) repeatedly.  Does this imply that the sensor is likely failed, or that it simply read a value out of spec?

Fuel filler/vapor lock?

I can't fill up my tank more than a buck or 2 at a time. There seems to be a vapor lock that sends gas spewing back at me. I've tried filling it at 2 different stations on separate days. Also run compressed air through the filler in case of clogged vent and a coat hangar in the filler looking for obstructions. After getting a little gas in there, a hissing noise can be heard through the filler flap as well....   Cheers!   Zac

E15 for older Porsches

The stuff I read and hear on the new E15 fuel blend is causing me concern. There's evidence that burning this gas will not do my 993 engine any good. What's the latest on this issue? Has Porsche or PCA taken a stand on E15? Are there any additives available to negate the bad effects of E15 if I fill the tank in my 993 with it?

JoelI am considering upgrading to and IPD plenum for the increase in hp. As background the car has recently had the IMs solution,Air Oil Seperator, Muffler bypass mod., clutch, pressure plate , rms, water pump and thermosat. There seems to be two to choose from, the standard 74mm and the 82mm. Your thoughts, I of course prefer the 82mm. I do feel I know enough to go with the larger of the two.Vince Schaeffer

993 where is my fuel pump

Model: 911, Year:1996, Mileage:610000, Type of use:Street use only
I had a stall at idle. Started fine after it sat for about ten minutes. Drove about 20 miles ran great. The next dat she started then cut out in about 5 seconds. Pretty sure it's the fuel pump. How would I know? Where is it?

Regular Gas - mistakenly fueled

Model: 995 Targa, Year:2005, Mileage:24,000, Type of use:Street use only
Heavy Sigh, I loaned my 2005 Targa to my nephew and he filled the tank with regular gas - not Premium. Duh!Can I add a octane booster or should I drain the tank - fill with the proper fuel? Thanks, Wayne Bostic PCA member since 1975 San Diego Region. 619-464-6723

I always have problems getting the tank to fill completely without the gas pump shutting down.I have to stand there and keep clicking the nozzle to get more gas in the tank.Is it a venting problem that causes this. Thanks for your help.
