2003 911 Twin Turbo Rough idle when engine is warm.

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 Twin Turbo; Year: 2003; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 38,000;

I drive 10 miles to the gym and then park the car for 1/2 hour. When I restart the car to return home, the engine idles roughly and occasionally stalls. It recovers within one mile and then runs normally. The fuel pump failed recently and has been replaced. I thought that this would cure the problem, but it has not.Region: Southern Calif.Car Use: Street use onlyTotal Mileage: 38,000

1999 996 oil in coolant, coolant in oil

Vehicle Information: Model: 996; Year: 1999; Body Type: Cabriolet; Total Mileage: 63000;

I just found out I have a small amount of oil in the coolant and a small amount coolant in the oil. I have owned the 996 C4 Cab for 3 years, and the only symptom is I need to add a quart of coolant after a 500 mile drive. The car seems to run good, however, I have been told it is ether a leak in the heat exchanger or an engine gasket. I am the second owner and the car has 63000 miles. Most mechanics tell me I need to replace the engine. Any advice would be helpful.

2003 996 C4S Regular Unleaded Gas

Vehicle Information: Model: Carrera 4S; Year: 2003; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 51,000;

With Atlanta in a serious gas shortage, when I can find gas, I am forced to use regular unleaded gas (and probably not the best quality either). I'm keeping the revs down but is there something I should do to protect the engine? I see you've commented against octane boost in prior posts but I really concerned, especially with no end in sight.

2000 996 check engine light

Vehicle Information: Model: 996; Year: 2000; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 44500;

Hi. I have a 2000 996 (and a 1986, mint condition 944 Turbo). In the 996, every 100 miles or so, the Check Engine Light goes on. I have a scanner and it gives me two codes: 1128 and 1130, Fuel and Air Mixture. What do you think it is? My mechanic said he doesn't really know what it is, we need to spend about $700 and then see if the problem is fixed or then continue spending money... He also said that, as long as I get those codes, I should not worry too much about it.Thanks

2004 996 fuel tank vent

Vehicle Information: Model: 911; Year: 2004; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 7200;

I purchased this car recently and filled with fuel twice. Now it won't take fuel. Acts like the tank is full. Dealer says no warranty on certified Porsche warranty. This sounds like an emission system problem that should be covered. Car went off full warranty in January. Any suggestions on who I could speak with at Porsche.Thanks.

1998 Carrera S Draining old fuel

Vehicle Information: Model: Carrera S; Year: 1998; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 40,000;

Joel, with regard to the gentleman who is concerned about the 1 yr. old fuel, you gave good advice. If treated with STABIL or similar product, the fuel will remain good for up to two years. I have a couple of old Shelby GT350's and they "don't get around much anymore" but I keep the tanks topped up and rotate the fuel every two years. I put it in our daily drivers and it performs just fine.

2005 996 Cup Car Fuel

Vehicle Information: Model: 996 GT3 Cup; Year: 2005; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: Unknown;

I have reviewed many of the prior Qs & As regarding fuel for 996s, but I could not find a specific answer for a 2005 996 GT3 Cup. What RON and US fuel specifications/octanes are mandated/appropriate for such a car for PCA racing?
