1995 911 Re: Replacing Fuel Lines

Vehicle Information: Model: 911; Year: 1995; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 93000;

I have repaired a lot of 911 fuel injection lines by taking them to a hose shop. They crimp in new flexible lines (rated at 300 psi) for a small fraction of new part from the Porsche dealer.

1995 C2 Replacing Fuel Line

Vehicle Information: Model: C2; Year: 1995; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 93000;

The rubber fuel line between the fuel rails in my 95 C2 car has its outer rubber layer worn through from rubbing the AC support bracket. I need to replace this line. Porsche only sell the fuel rails and line as a unit. My question is, can I replace this line using SAE 30R9 high pressure fuel injection hose commonly available? I am planning on using 5/16 line which is just about the same size as the original line.Thanks,anthony

1999 C4 Fuel filter

Vehicle Information: Model: Carerra; Year: 1999; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 57000;

I have a 1999 C4. It looks like the fuel filter is hanging off of the coolant reservoir vs. in the tunnel? If so, how do you change it? It looks like the back fitting (towards the back seats) is impossible to get to. Is this correct? Is that the fuel filter, and how do you get to it? Thanks.

1995 993 Lucas injector cleaner

Vehicle Information: Model: 993 Cabio; Year: 1995; Body Type: Cabriolet; Total Mileage: 100000;

I just added Lucas injector cleaner to my 1992 jeep larado with 150000 miles on it, and it seems to have made a differance, better idle etc.Would it be o.k. to add some to my 993 with 100000 miles on it, or could it be harmfull to something, like senors etc.ThanksHawaii

1997 993 Tracking Down Fuel Smell

1997 993 C2S nonoxygenated gas

Vehicle Information: Model: C2S; Year: 1997; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 34,800;

A local Amoco offers 93 Octane Nonoxygenated gas. The sign reads "for snowmobiles, watercraft, recreational vehicles and collector cars" or something close to that. I have never used this in my 911 but overheard a BMW owner say that he always uses this for his vehicles, especially during winter storage.I was wondering if using this gas for my 911 is advised, and if so under what circumstances.

2001 996 Lower Octane, Better Mileage

Vehicle Information: Model: 996; Year: 2001; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 48000;

I have a stock 2001 996 and with outrageous gas prices these days, I have switched to running regular gas (87) rather than supreme (91) over the last 30 days and my average gas mileage has improved, from 18.9 mpg to 19.3 mpg. Previous Q and A's have said that if one keeps the revs low, mpg will improve. I can testify to this. Are there any potential problems running regular gas? Thanks.Ron
