Clutch Cable Tube broken loose

Model: 914-2, Year:74, Mileage:458 K, Type of use:Both Street & Track
It appears the tube the clutch cable resides in has broken loose at the firewall (rear behind seats). Should have noticed something was wrong as had to adjust clutch when should not have needed adjusting. Then shifter hit something when shifting to 4th.. so pulled consol to look. Assume am not the first to experience this. Short of cutting out a piece of the pan or tunnel for access, how does one go about repairing this? Thanks much for any assistance you can offer.. throttle cable installation

Vehicle Information: Model (914/4, 914/6): 914/4; Year: 1973; Engine (type, size, modifications): 2.0; Total Mileage: 78000;

I am replacing the original throttle cable. I cannot get the new cable to go into the body more that about 18" It hits a firm block like a shoulder in the chassis tube it fits into. I have twosted and poked with no success. I have inserted a solid copper wire about 36" into the hole, so I know it is open. Besides, the old cable came out okay. Is there some trick or suggestion someone can make on how to get the cable to feed into the car?

Installing a new clutch cable. when the cable is connected it pulls the clutch yoke towards the rear of the car. Unfortunately when the clutch pedal is depressed it pulls the yoke even tighter towards the rear. Could you tell how things may have went wrong.
