ticking noise up front

Model: 928S4, Year:1989, Mileage:42,400, Type of use:Street use only
There is a ticking noise coming from the front in all gears that disappears when the clutch is depressed 1 or 2 cm, and comes back when the clutch is released. The gears shift just fine, and the ticking does not seem to change it's frequency with rpm or mph change. Any ideas?

Where is the tourque converter plug on an 1984 Porsche 928 S. I am experiencing a leak from right behind the torque converter. There is a window and a bolt if you reach into the rear of the window. It is leaking around this area. The transmission is leaking and I hope it isnt the transmission seal. The 4 speed works flawlessly and is not overfilled.

I just had a rebuilt trans installed from 928 International with OEM gear oil. I want to change to synthetic. I was told by a PCA racer the synthetic would wear out my new syncros faster than the OEM oil. Is this true?
