Bike Rack

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 Cabriolet; Year: 1986; Body Type: Convertible; Total Mileage: 61000;

My wife and I enjoy biking as well as our 911 Cabriolet and would like to know if there is any decently designed bike rack that can go on our 911 without damage to the car or bikes? Since it is a convertible, a roof rack is out of the question and the whale tail would eliminate most strap on racks. I own a hitch mounted trailer but have never seen or heard of a trailer hitch for a 911. Any ideas?

Refinishing Durant Mirrors

I am in the process of restoring this 911S and a 911T. I would like to reuse the original Durant mirrors. The chrome on mine is ok but the mirror must be replaced. Can you tell how to remove the glass without damaging the mirror?

For winter storage some car guys say leave doors, hood,trunk, etc. on the first click to preserve the resiliance of the ruber seals. Also they talk of D-con, over-pressure the tires, full tank of gas, and on and on. Is there an article on 'winterization' that lists the do's and don'ts?

tire mileage

Vehicle Information: Model: 911; Year: 1996; Body Type: Convertible; Total Mileage: 64453;

I only drive my 911 during the summer mainly when the weather is good. Mostly around town and short trips of less than 300 miles. I put new Pirelli P Zero on back Aug '01, car had 53500 miles. I did drive it to Az in Oct '03 and back. I had to replace them this spring at 64450 mileage. Is that reasonable amount. I do not drive is hard but I do like to make it perform like it should.Thanks.Ed
