Self-locking cab top.

Vehicle Information: Model: 911; Year: 1991; Body Type: Convertible; Total Mileage: 119000;

the top locking mechanism quite working today. I I do not hear the locking mech. attempt to 'hook-up' when the sensor hits the trigger(top of the windshield frame). The roof lifts O.K. so I don't think it's a fuse issue.... I think the motor went bad that turns the 'elctrical locking system' (page 65 of the manual). My question is, is this a project I can fix or should I take it to the dealer????ThanksTim DappenFirst Porsche....

Using Blue Magic on 1988 911 convertible plastic windows

Vehicle Information: Model: 911; Year: 1988; Body Type: Convertible; Total Mileage: 104,000;

In the August 2001 Panorama, you suggested using a bit of Blue Magic and a wax for scrapes in a rear plastic window. I want to try this, and see that Blue Magic has several products. Would you please advise as to which one you recommend for this application?

911 Exhaust paint

Vehicle Information: Model: 911s; Year: 1973; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 90,000;

Can you recommend a good brush on exhaust paint that is close in color to the grey found on 911's? I have used some of the high heat type spray cans, and they do not hold up very long.

Targa top recovering

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 ; Year: 1990; Body Type: Targa; Total Mileage: 68,000;

I'm thinking about recovering my targa top and replacing the headliner. I purchased a factory cover and headliner and I've inspected the top. The seals and frame are in good shape. The process looks pretty straight forward, but I'm concerned about getting the new cover to fit tight. I believe the process requires using contact cement to attach the top (which doesn't allow for errors). Any hints on how to proceed (short of calling an upholstery shop)?
