1965 911 Spark Plug gap

Engine

Vehicle Information: Model: 911; Year: 1965; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 2 liter, Solex carburetors, Purmatune CD Ignition; Total Mileage: 162,495 (about 15,000 - 20,000 since full engine rebuild);

A former owner added a Permatune CD Ignition which has somehow survived to this day. Should I be using a larger plug gap than recommended in the original documentation? (It's even hard to find a plug gap gauge in that size).The last time I changed plugs I hammered them down to .014" as recommended. The cur runs fine right now, but I wonder if a wider gap would work better with the CD ignition. Perhaps there would be more resistance to fouling with the chronically rich Solexes.
