1969 911 2.7 flywheel & ring gear part 2


Vehicle Information: Model: 911T; Year: 1969; Body Type: Targa; Engine (type, size, modifications): 2.7l, E cams, carburation, and 9.5 compression; Total Mileage: 83000;

I asked about this flywheel already, and just got a response today. Let me be more explicit. The flywheel is NOS for a 2.7l motor. It will mate to the crank. It does have the 9 bolt holes to bolt on the ring gear. The ring gear I purchased is used, and the supplier (who also supplied the flywheel) says it is for a 2.7l flywheel. It also has the 9 bolt holes. The problem I see is that the ring gear ID (inner diameter) is about 1 mm smaller than the flywheel OD (outter diameter. I would be surprised if I could bolt it up and cinch up that much difference. So I wanted to know about heat, machining the flywheel, or if I just have the wrong ring gear. I couldn't find any referencs that said there was more than one ring gear available for the flywheel. Thank you.
