1970 911S MFI Pump

Fuel System

Vehicle Information: Model: 911S; Year: 1970; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 2.2 Stock; Total Mileage: 78,000;

I had this car in storage for about nine years. When I took it out ofstorage, a respected Porsche independent replaced the MFI pump with a(presumably rebuilt) 1971 911E one. Is it my imagination or would thiscause a decrease in top end performance (4500 to redline)? Should I lookto replace it with an S pump? If so, is the year critical?The linkage and mechanical parts of "stacks" are worn, even though engineruns well. Do you know anyone who will reliably rebuild these parts?Last question, not MFI related, however. There are numerous new polished,beautiful-looking exhaust systems (headers and mufflers) for the car.What's your opinion from a performance (not aesthetic) perspective?
