1970 911T Rear Trailing Arms

Suspension

Vehicle Information: Model: 911t coupe; Year: 1970; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 2.2l; Total Mileage: 140000;

I decided to replace all the bushings, shocks, etc. on my car. The frontis finished and now I am starting on the rear. While underneath, Inoticed leaks all over; so the project has expanded to rebuilding theaxles, new heat exchangers, new oil return tubes/turbo valve covers. Myquestion is, how can I remove the trailing arm--it seems to hit thetransmission on its way out. Do I have to remove the transmission? Ireally wanted to repaint it too, maybe I should just leave it in.
