1971 911E ignition cut-out

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 e; Year: 1971; Body Type: Coupe; Engine (type, size, modifications): 2.2 e ,s p&c set,webers; Total Mileage: 125 k;

After driving for approx 30 seconds, sometimes as much as 90 seconds, the car will just quit. It seems to be electrical. I can hear the fuel pump and whining of CD unit and the car will crank but not start. If I let it sit for 3-4 minutes, sometimes as little as 1 minute, it will start up again and run fine. Engine temperature doesn't seem to matter. It has happened first thing in the morning and later in the day at lunch. It's never failed to restart but it is a nusiance. The engine is newly rebuilt. Any ideas?
