911 sat for five years.Replaced gas tank and sender and all hoses. Fuel pump checked out ok. Rebuilt both Weber 40IDA carbs.(Zeniths were replaced sometime prior to 2001.

All this work was done by a reputable Porsche repairr shop.

However, I can not get the car to idle consistently nor does is drop back to idle properly. I checked the float levels with a P226 sight guage. The left rear and the right front measured at the top of the gauge, aboout 4 or 5 mm too high. (The other two floats checked out within limits). The idle mixture screws vary in their responses to adjustment.

Question: Is it possible to adjust the needle valves when the levels are off this much? I have pretty much decided to replace the two needle valves but wanted a second opinioon.

Question 2: The carbs have 55 idle jets, but 125 mains. Are the mains too large for the Tucson area (2700 feet altitude)?
