1973 911E Battery tray rust

Vehicle Information: Model: 1973; Year: 1965; Body Type: Targa; Engine (type, size, modifications): 2.4; Total Mileage: 100,000;

While recently taking my car out of storage for this summer and installing the batteries, I noticed some surface rust that developed over the winter. Briefly, there was some disintigration of the paint and a small amount of surface rust that developed just under the battery tray. I seemed to remember, while looking at a car a long time ago, discussing this problem and there was a product for the removal of spot surface rust and any battery acid goop. This seemed like a good product because it was a spot treater and you did not need to strip everything on the car off, you could apply it to a small area and clean everything away, possibly sand or grind some small spots and repaint. I would like to know if any of these treaters are still around and if they are reliable.
