1973.5 911T Idle problem

Vehicle Information: Model: 911T; Year: 1973; Body Type: Targa; Engine (type, size, modifications): 2.4 CIS; Total Mileage: 110,000;

I was interested to read your recent answer to the question on a tendency toward a fast idle on a 74 911 -- likely the deceleration valve. My 73 CIS car seems to have a similar ailment. When the engine is warm, about half the time when I decelerate to an idle the engine runs at around 2,000 rpm (the other half of the time it drops to 900 or so). If I briefly put a load on the engine, the idle speed will drop to 900. Do I have a deceleration valve like the 74? If that sounds like the problem, where do I find the decel valve?
