1975 Carrera US model

Vehicle Information: Model: Carrera #9115400378; Year: 1975; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 67000;

I bought this car 10+/- years ago. I am the third owner and have about 17K invested in the car. The car has been in storage since I bought it, started from time to time and driven once in a while to warm up engine. Recently I started a restoration beginning with brakes, fuel system, cis injection etc. The transmission and engine have not been entered and seem to be ok however I know chain tensioners and other items need to be checked out before putting the car into service. The body has no collision damage but some rust and dings about another 15k to have a decent job of paint and body parts replaced (not concourse quality of course). About 3K for some interior and another 4k in miscellaneous such as original koni shocks, warm-up regulator, tires etc.My question is will this model being as few were shipped to the US ever appreciate in value to justify the investment? I would like to drive the car and get some pleasure out of it but I may be better off leaving the car as is and investing in another car in better condition ready to drive.
