1976 Air flow switch

Fuel System

Vehicle Information: Year: 1976; Engine (Size, Modifications): 3.0; Total Mileage: 145,000 km;

It appears that to get my 1976 911 turbo running I have to disconnect the the wires going to my air sensor on the top of my CIS unit to turn on my fuel pumps. I can assume that the switch is defective then and I should install a new one or am I bypassing another circuit in the process.
