1977 911S engine miss

Fuel System

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 S; Year: 1977; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 118,000;

I have a very miss or low sounding poof, poof out of the exhaust. It is most definite in the 2600-3100 rpm range. I have set the valves, new coil, new plug wires, new plugs, new cap, new rotor, new points-.014", mixture to 3.5% using the gas analyzer and idle is at 1000-1100. It shudders the car a little bit, but mainly makes this poof, poof noise in the exhaust can and I feel like it is a misfire. Where or what do I check next? It is an anoying problem. Could it be a fuel issue?
