1977S no-start condition

Fuel System

Vehicle Information: Model: 911S; Year: 1977; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 71,000;

I had my car out this April for a PCA D/E. It ran without issues as is usual. As I prepped for the next D/E this August, I could not get it started. It turned over ok with no signs of catching. I checked for spark which appeared to be ok. All fuses appear to be ok. The fuel pump relay clicks when key goes to "on" position and pulsates when the key goes to "start" position (not sure if this is ok). I swapped a fuel pump relay from a friend's 1986 911 (although both 1986 and 1977 number are supposed to have same relay p/n, the '86 had a suffix of -01 rather than -00 on my '77) which did not make a difference in starting. I could not hear any "whirring" from the fuel pump so that is the next thing to check for. I also read a suggestion about squirting some fuel in the intake (through the popoff valve??) to see if it "wants" to start. Do you have any suggestions / advise? Looks like the car will miss another event this Labor day weekend.Thanks for any tips,Hannes
