1979 911SC Ignition Distributor Rebuild

Vehicle Information: Model: 911sc; Year: 1979; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 130k;

I have found that my timing was 22 BTDC at idle when replacing my rotorand cap last week, and through further investigation found that itdoesn't advance timing as I raise rpm through 5000 rpm or more. Vacuumadvance doesn't function either. Obviously I need to rebuild andlubricate the counterweights which appear to be frozen, however, willthere be a benefit in going to the European advance curve? What isinvolved in doing this besides replacing counterweight springs with theEuropean counterparts? How will this effect power and torque on thismotor now that I have SSI and a Bursch muffler?
