1979 928 Fuel Tank Seepage

Is there any repair possible for a one drop per hour seepage from the plastic fuel tank? The seepage is at the bottom of the tank at the fitting, which connects to a hose, which then goes to the external pump. My local auto store only has fuel tank repair kits for metal tanks, which specifically say "not for plastic tanks". The metal hose fitting is mounted into a plastic fitting, which appears to be glued into the tank proper; the leak is at the seam between the two plastic parts. I cannot tell if this seam was solvent welded or perhaps welded by another means (ultrasonic?) that cannot be duplicated in the field. I am trying to avoid the purchase of a new fuel tank if possible.
