1980 911 --- A/C & heating upgrades

Heating and Ventilation

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 SC Targa; Year: 1980; Body Type: Targa; Total Mileage: 125K+;

I have owned this owner of this 1980 911 Targa daily driver for 13 years. I don't personally service the car, but like to be well educated whendiscussing with those who do.1) A/C --- After full re-charge, 1st season is cold, 2nd season nearlynon-existent. I do run the A/C at least every 6-8 weeks year-round toprevent seals from drying out. I suspect seals may need to be replacedprior to the next recharge.Can you advise me on the need for seal replacement and additionalmaintenance or upgrades to consider at the same time. What should myexpectations be after this work has been completed, as compared to mycurrent situation?2) Heat --- I've had the heater boxes replaced and heating systeminspected for proper functioning. At best, I can feel a tiny amount ofheat when red levers are up on a "warm" day. On a cold day I've neverfelt any noticeable heat.a) Any suggestions on making this stock system work better?b) Is it possible to upgrade (affordably) to the improved heating systemsthat came along in later years (auxiliary fans, etc.)
