1981 911 SC AC Switch - Wiring

Vehicle Information: Model: 911 SC; Year: 1981; Body Type: Coupe; Total Mileage: 94000;

Had to replace faulty AC fan switch. Had to jiggle switch for fan to come on - however the fan does work. Bought a replacement, and the pinouts on the switch are not labeled the same as the original switch. The original is labeled L-M-H-B-C. I would assume low, medium, high - plus two others. The new switch is labeled 1-2-3-4-5. The back of the new switch layout looks like the original, however once I connect to new switch, only high speed works. Do you know if there is any other way to determine if the issue is with the new switch or the blower motor?
